* Cet escalier est en bas du Parc de Belleville. J’avais depuis longtemps envie de photographier un escalier urbain. Le noir et blanc lui va bien, n'est ce pas ?
Lorsque j'ai visité l’université de Zhuhai, dans le sud de la Chine, j'ai été impressionnée par un escalier à une volée, d’une hauteur vertigineuse. Il était coincé entre la bibliothèque et un autre bâtiment qui lui était perpendiculaire. Il m’a été expliqué, que c’était une allégorie.

Il me fallait monter et descendre deux fois par jour un escalier de ce type pour aller à l’établissement où j’étais scolarisée en première et en terminale. La hauteur à gravir était plus grande que celle de l'escalier de Belleville, mais sans aucune mesure cependant, avec celle de celui de l’université de Zhuhai...
* This staircase is at the bottom of Belleville’s Park. I wanted to photograph an urban staircase. When I visited the Zhuhai‘s university, in South China, I saw a staircase having a vertiginously long and tall flight wedged between the library and another building which was perpendicular for him. It was explained to me, that it is an allegory.
Working is the only way of climbing the book mountain
During my two last secondary school’s years, I had to go up and down twice a day a staircase exactly like this one. It was higher than that Belleville's one. But not as much than the one of the Zhuhai’s university, though...
